Special Presentation - People with Parkinson’s & Care Partners
THIS IS A SPECIAL EVENT - NOTE THE DATE & START TIME
Please join us for a special guest speaker, Aaron Daley, of the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences Movement Disorders and Neuromodulation Center.
Aaron Daley, MA, is the clinic and research coordinator for the University of California, San Francisco (SF) Parkinson's Disease (PD) center. He runs the day-to-day operations of the center, including clinical research trials, PD outreach and education in the Bay Area, and follow-up clinical care in the UCSF Movement Disorder department. Given his location in the SF Bay Area—one of most diverse populations in the world — he strives to collect, create, and transmit culturally appropriate information on PD. In the last 10 years, he has worked on a variety of National Institutes of Health- and Department of Defense-funded research projects: investigating issues related to mental health screening of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, blood ratios in massively transfused trauma patients, and the effects of cognitive behavioral interventions with sleep disorders and depression. He is interested in the ways that medicine and mental health intersect, as well as investigating ways that our society can improve the services and quality of life of the mentally ill. He graduated with a degree in psychology from the University of San Francisco in 1999, and a Master’s degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in research, from San Francisco State University in 2008.

The essence of dance is joy. In addition to all of the physical benefits, dance builds community. It brings people together, provides a space to connect, and offers healthy and fun ways to build strength, coordination, balance, and stability all while using creativity and imagery to inspire movement. Programming has been made possible in part by The Community Foundation of Mendocino County’s 2025 Fund for Healthy and Inclusive Communities, a Dance for PD Launch Grant, a funding initiative of the Mark Morris Dance Group’s Dance for PD® program, Mendocino Coast Recreation and Park District’s District Services Grant, and generous donors. Classes are offered at no cost.
Monthly Meeting - People with Parkinson’s & Care Partners
Jude Thilman of Dragonfly Wellness Center will speak about cannabis tinctures.
We meet monthly on the second Thursday from 2:30–4:15 PM at the Redwood Coast Senior Center in Fort Bragg, CA..
Our meetings begin with about 45 minutes together as one group, often featuring guest speakers such as physical therapists, neurologists, social workers, or others knowledgeable about Parkinson’s.
After the group session, we divide into two smaller groups—People with Parkinson’s and Care Partners—for an additional 45 minutes of informal conversation, support, and shared experiences.
Newcomers are always welcome.
There is no cost to attend.
We ask all participants to honor the confidentiality of our discussions to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
